C anada have begun the final approach to a home World Cup. Jesse Marsch named 32 players to the training-camp roster gathering in Charlotte, North Carolina from May 25 to 29, with the official 26-man squad to be unveiled live on a TSN, CTV, Crave and RDS primetime special on May 29 at 7 pm ET. Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David headline. Two send-off friendlies follow, before Group B opens on home soil against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto on June 12.

What Marsch said

Marsch framed the camp as a momentum moment for a co-hosting country: "These are the final days before we announce the squad that will represent Canada at a home World Cup, and the excitement in this group is real. We feel the momentum building across our country and we are calm, focused, and ready for this moment." Canada Soccer has signalled that injuries and active club commitments mean some players may report later in the camp window rather than at the start, with fitness prioritised through to the June 7 competition window.

Davies and David lead the spine

Jonathan David, transferring to Juventus from Lille for the 2025-26 season, is the senior centre-forward. Around them, Alistair Johnston at Celtic and Moïse Bombito at OGC Nice anchor a defensive line that also includes Sporting Kansas City's Bassong and Marseille loanee Cornelius at Rangers. Stephen Eustáquio and Ismaël Koné remain the senior midfield two; Tajon Buchanan adds the wide attacking thrust from Villarreal.

After the reveal in Charlotte, Canada head to Edmonton to face Uzbekistan at Play Alberta Field, Commonwealth Stadium on June 1, then move to Stade Saputo in Montréal to play the Republic of Ireland on June 5. Both matches are presented by BMO and air live on TSN, RDS and OneSoccer. Tickets are available via canadasoccer.com.
