U .S. Soccer has set the date and venue for one of the most-anticipated press events of the American soccer year. The United States men's national team will officially unveil Mauricio Pochettino's 26-player World Cup roster on May 26 at a live fan event at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in Manhattan, the federation announced. The reveal will air nationally on FOX at 3 p.m. ET, per Yahoo Sports and Athlon Sports reporting in early May.

The May 26 reveal sits two weeks before the United States open the tournament against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on June 12. Before then, Pochettino's group has two final friendlies on home soil: Senegal in Charlotte on May 31 and Germany in Chicago on June 6. Those matches, U.S. Soccer says, are intended as the final tactical fitting before the squad is locked in.

Pochettino's preparation has been complicated by results. ESPN reported that the March international window, which Pochettino described as his last full look at the player pool before the May reveal, ended in two losses: 5-2 to Belgium and 2-0 to Portugal. Both came on neutral ground and against opponents likely to feature in the European elite tier of the tournament.

The countdown is now set: provisional 35-to-55-player release lists are due to FIFA by May 11, the final 26 by May 26, and the opener at SoFi on June 12. Christian Pulisic remains captain, and Pochettino has used the March camp to try late-season form players against players with longer national-team tenure. The squad announcement on May 26 will indicate which way that competition has resolved.

Reporting: Yahoo Sports (May 2026), ESPN (March 2026), Athlon Sports (May 2026). U.S. Soccer's official confirmation of the May 26 date came via federation press release.
